Sheet Metal / HVAC
Sheet metal is metal that has been formed into thin, flat pieces through an industrial process. Thickness varies depending on the need of the project. We use metal thin enough to bend by hand (26ga), all the way up to thick structural plate steel (.25" and thicker). Sheet metal has been around for a very long time. It was hand hammered in ancient times. In the 17th century, water powered rolling mills replaced the manual processes. Modern sheet metal made it's appearance in Canada and the U.S. in the 1870's, used for roofing and stamped ornamental ceilings.
Sheet metal can come in a variety of metal types. We typically use steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. We can make a variety of products through cutting (shearing), bending, rolling, forming, and welding. We can make pieces that lock together through specialized seams and connections. Sheet metal is extremely versatile, and has a very broad spectrum of uses:

HVAC (heating, venting, and air conditioning) is the use of technology and building materials to control temperature, humidity, and purity of air within an enclosed space. These systems are found in our homes, public buildings, and on large industrial sites. The goal is acceptable air quality at a desired temperature. There is a lot of information and skill involved in designing and installing an effective HVAC system. Equipment and duct must be sized properly for the given conditioned space.
